The Village Screen returns to Victoria Baths this summer to offer a double-hit of nostalgia in the ornate surroundings of Manchester’s Grade II listed building. The fun starts with John Hughes’ definitive 80s classic The Breakfast Club on Fri 09 Aug, as The Village Screen team invite you to return to high school to spend a day in detention with Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson and the rest of the iconic Brat Pack. A day later on Sat 10 Aug, it’s off to Isla Nublar as the team schedule a return trip to Jurassic Park where life will most certainly find a way to cause a bit of chaos as dinosaurs run amok in Steven Spielberg’s groundbreaking 1994 gem. In addition to enjoying two genre heavyweights back on the big screen, attendees will also be able to sample a selection of craft ales and street food from a variety of Northern foodie talent. Pop corn and old time-y sweets will be available for vistors to tuck into as they get comfy in the venue’s candy-striped deckchairs which will be nestled inside the Gala Pool, complete with period detailing and ornate tiles. Wooden balcony seating is also available and be sure to get down early for a pre-film boogie, courtesy of Victoria Bath’s in-house DJ. Tickets are available now and can be bought via the venue’s website.
