Every Thursday evening throughout spring and summer, Spinningfields is once again hosting outdoor screenings of classic movies, with patrons watching the giant screen from the comfort of deck chairs out on the central lawn. This week’s offering is the kids’ adventure movie The Goonies. The film will be a big slice of nostalgia for those who grew up in the 1980s – but even if you’ve never seen it before, this Spielberg-produced romp should make for a fun evening. To heighten the enjoyment, drinks are available from the adjacent Long Bar and the recently-opened Lawn Club, plus smoothies from the recently opened Wholesome & Raw, and food by Mumma Schnitzel. Previous screenings have been blighted by the rain, but the weather for this Thursday is predicted to be pleasant enough. Future films in the Screenfields series include Some Like It Hot (5 Jun), Edward Scissor Hands (31 Jul), and Dirty Dancing (7 Aug) – see the website below for the full schedule.
