Seeking a petrifying and immersive experience this Halloween season? How about a séance in a  shipping container outside The Royal Exchange? Darkfield are a production company who create theatrical experiences which manipulate your senses through sound, design, movement and suggestion. One of the company founders, David Rosenberg, was a co-founder of the contemporary theatre company, Shunt, which created immersive environments in the vaults under London Bridge Station; other team members include award-winning author Glen Neath, and former Punchdrunk producer Andrea Salazar. Participants are in expert hands for Séance which takes place in complete darkness and uses binaural sound to recreate the supernatural, encouraging – and perhaps establishing – a connection with the spirit world. The show lasts 20 minutes and is an encounter somewhere between theatre and simulation ride. Other Darkfield productions include Flight; a shipping container turned into a plane interior, suspended at 40ft and packed with terrified passengers. Prepared to be scared.
