As Ping Pong Club has shown, the power of the small plastic ball and weird wooden paddle are not to be messed with – which is why Cancer Research UK has called upon the game to help raise funds. Served is a 32 person knock-out tournament for the creatives and freelancers of Manchester to battle it out, humiliate each other and, ultimately, make themselves look stupid. Places are £5 and – oh, look at that – they’re already gone. Unsurprisingly, there will be more like this in the future, but it’s free to go down and watch, where you can drink beer and support a good cause (and maybe, if you look longingly enough, someone might let you have a quick go as well)
