In an unconventional setting of suds and dirty laundry, Service Wash is an innovative exhibition to take place in two functioning launderettes. Drawing from a collaboration of local artists from cross-disciplinary practices, the temporary exhibition will showcase work responding to the themes and associations of the launderette from the 1900s to the present day. The first exhibition will take place at the Ladybarn Launderette, situated near Withington and Fallowfield. After this weekend Service Wash will move to the Northern Quarter Launderette where it will feature on the cultural trail of Manchester After Dark. Both locations will feature a series of workshops, performances and discussions, centred around hot gossip, and the sweet soapy smell of cleanliness.
