This July Islington Mill plays host to the return of the beyond superlative sights and sounds of Shangaan Electro. A super high energy dance music from South Africa, Shangaan struck a chord in the UK with a slew of irrepressibly incredible releases from Damon Albarn’s Honest Jons record label over the last few years. With dance workshops in the day and a performance later from the genre’s masked superstars the Tshetsha Boys, this is undoubtedly the highlight in Manchester’s cultural calendar so far this year.
