Salford Makers Artist Collective are opening a pop-up shop on Chapel Street, Salford for the next six months. The space, provided by the TheEnglish Cities Fund, will feature a carefully curated selection of high quality and affordable work from the established independent artists and crafters of Islington Mill and beyond, with products to suit all tastes from textiles, lighting, ceramics, jewellery, clothing and accessories. The Salford maker’s aim is to create an inclusive space where people can connect with each other by engaging in creativity. They also intend to develop a social enterprise project which involves working with members of the community to develop new products and commissions, inspiring the development of new skills and skill sharing through making, in order to support wellness and positivity. The Collective is encouraging people to shop local over the festive season, allowing customers to grab a free brew, chat with the artists and get involved in the making process. The official opening is on Friday 9th November from 5pm, where there will be an exclusive opportunity for the first visitors to indulge in a 10% discount on a wide selection of products, whilst also enjoying some tasty refreshments and goody bag giveaways.
