Paramount Books is a family-owned second-hand book and comic shop, unassumingly located on Shudehill in the city centre. It specialises in the type of collectables that make your heart skip a beat, blinking eyes at the disbelief of the discovery you just made. This Thursday marks the shop’s first exhibition, Show and Thumb, wherein artists bring their prized possessions for the public to observe – whether that be old sketch books, hand-made books, zines, rare items and even a risographed book (an old school printing method from the 1980s). Polish off your thumbs and give them a stretch to prepare for leafing through the collections. Everyone is invited (though there is a limited capacity). A second exhibition is booked in for June – so get in touch for Paramount’s next event if you’ve got some enviable items you’re  eager to show off.
