There was a collective tear shed by the Manchester foodie community when it was announced that Siam Smiles would be closing their popular Chinatown supermarket and authentic Thai cafe in March due to rising rents. However, head chef and owner Lallalin Mahasrabphaisal, a youtube documentary and some enthusiastic diners have collectively  resurrected the Thai cafe in the former home of B.Eat Street at Great Northern. Open Tuesday to Sunday, it will continue to serve what the Guardian described as ‘the most exciting thing to happen in Manchester since the Hacienda’. Hopefully it will be a bit warmer in this venue too. Welcome back, Siam Smiles!

Siam Smiles, Deansgate Mews, Great Northern, Manchester, M3 4EN. Follow @SiamSmilesCafe, open Tue-Sun 12pm-8pm (10pm on Sat & Sun)
