The Pilcrow is an innovative pub-in-progress that is being built by volunteers learning traditional construction and craft skills starting this January, with places available for those interested in getting involved. The project is being overseen by craftsman Joe Hartley and will open for first orders in autumn 2016. Workshops, include drystone walling and cabinet making, through to home brewing, bee keeping and robotics, will see the pub put together, one piece at a time. Fancy finding out more? Head down to this Friday’s launch where you can meet the tradesmen and coordinators and sign up for workshops. Expect pub games, pizza, music and craft beer too. Plus, it’s a chance to check out this brand new part of Manchester.

Launch event Fri 4 Dec, The Pilcrow, Sadler’s Yard, Hanover Street, NOMA, Manchester, 7-10pm, www.thepilcrowpub.com
