This new exhibition from artist Simeon Barclay fuses fashion, music, and popular culture at The Holden Gallery at MMU’s All Saints Campus. Barclay grew up in Huddersfield, becoming fascinated with the glamorous imagery of Vogue Magazine and how it contrasted with his home life. His employment background is manufacturing, having worked in a factory for 16 years which feeds into his practice by informing his aesthetic and use of industrial fabricating techniques. This exhibition, Life Room, consists of his existing pieces alongside new work, including a response to the historic collections at the Manchester School of Art.
