If you’re planning to visit HOME in December, an added bonus to the film, theatre and art programme is Sketch-O-Matic, the venue’s revived art residency that has proved wildly popular on previous appearances. It’s easy to understand why. You’ll find a full-sized photo booth, but instead of camera, there is roster of real-life artists inside who will be there creating caricatures, portraits and other works of art all day, every day. All you have to do is sit down, and put a donation in the slot – but be warned you may well have to queue.  The minimum suggested amount is £1 per person, but more will be gladly accepted. Wait for around about five minutes, and a unique portrait, poem, or even a collage will appear in the dispensing tray, with an authentic gust of warm air. Sketch-O-Matic had two successful residences back during the Cornerhouse days, and it’s predicted to be a hit at the new venue. Lunchtimes and weekends are likely to be busiest.
