Running from Thu 26 Oct to Wed 20 Dec, Man Met Uni’s Modal gallery presents its captivating new A/W exhibition, Web to Verse, a multimedia artistic odyssey which seeks to explore the idea that we and the digital art we produce now exist in a boundless, shifting, liminal ‘Verse’ space between the conventional internet landscape and our physical reality.

Structured as an ongoing endeavour investigating this ‘Web to Verse’ progression from different perspectives, the exhibition showcases the contemporary artists creating works about information culture both online, offline and every state in-between with installations taking form across different locations with distinct curatorial visions.

Through the breakneck advancement of technologies like blockchain, AI, VR and the Metaverse, the boundaries of human experience are exponentially blurring between the digital and corporeal. At Modal gallery, the exhibition interrogates this phenomenon with a focus on activism – specifically, the aim of artists to confront and critically engage with our emerging creative dimensions.

Free to attend with no booking required, Web to Verse features works from internationally renowned artists including:

Miltos Manetas
Oliver Laric
Jonas Lund
Federica Di Pietrantonio
Sofia Crespo
Jon Rafman
Nye Thompson
Osinachi
Joey Holder
Yuqian Sun

Web to Verse is open to the public Monday to Friday, 12 – 5pm and Saturday 11am – 4pm.
