Never ones to go into something half-heartedly, those decadent culinary masters over at Solita are launching their first ever brunch menu – and it is as deliciously gut-busting as you would expect. Stand-out dishes include a Full English Toad in the Hole, which manages to improve upon both of the original dishes with this gluttonous marriage of two English classics, plus another delightful mash-up of popular breakfast dishes with the adage of an eight ounce rib eye steak to eggs benedict (pictured), and the Uovo Pomodoro, which is baked eggs in house marinara sauce, served with sourdough soldiers. For the body conscious, Solita offers up the high-protein ‘Bodybuilder’s Breakfast’, a six-egg white omelette with charcoal-grilled chicken breast and hot sauce. Meanwhile those who have just awoken with a terrifying hangover can let the brunch menu soothe that pain with house waffles with buttermilk-fried chicken and US-style sausage gravy. Brunch is looking like its staking a claim for our new favourite meal time.

Fri – Sun from 24 Jan, Solita, Turner Street, M4 1DW, Tel: 0161 839 2200, 10am – 1pm, www.solita.co.uk
