The Roadhouse welcomes Soundsci, veterans of the hip-hop scene who have chalked up countless hours of live performance between them. Two producers and three MCs who consider themselves ‘here to remind you why you like hip-hop’, the group have been generating a healthy buzz with their energetic live shows and ‘old school’ (but really just great hip-hop) vibe, made large by those such as Jurassic 5 and Breakestra. Their most recent album on Ubiquity Records, Soundsational, was entirely inspired by songs from criminally unacknowledged singer Mike James Kirkland’s Don’t Sell Your Soul – an anthology that was also recently covered by John Legend and the Roots. Soundsci are true hip-hop heads with their hearts on their sleeves. Support comes from Soudsci producer Oli Teeba, best known for being one half of the Herbaliser, plus DJ sets from More Bounce’s Didjit and Lee Majors with 45 king Omas.
