It may be getting very close to the Big Day, but there’s still a fair few cool events taking place around Manchester. Next Monday, at the Castle Hotel on Oldham Street, two of the city’s most popular spoken word nights are teaming up for a free Xmas bash. The event has the unwieldy but accurate title of ‘The Night Before the Night Before the Night Before the Night Before Christmas’. It will feature poetry, fiction, comedy and music from the folks at First Draft, and creative non-fiction courtesy of The Real Story gang. Performers will include some spoken word mainstays, including Nija Dalal-Small, Abi Hynes and Kate Feld. Stand-up comedian Anjali Shah, and musician Idiot Johnson will add some seasonal spice to the proceedings. There’s also the promise of party games, but don’t let that put you off.
