Stellar secret guest: Hoya Hoya at Roadhouse

Hoya Hoya have steadily built their rep over years of work, good parties and an excellent and steadfastly eclectic music policy to become one of the UK’s most respected musical enterprises. Their unimpeachable integrity and the celebrated output of a stellar team of residents (Lone, Illum Sphere, Kystal Klear, Éclair Fifi) has captured the attentions of both Manchester and of London, who seem to be ever more receptive to the undeniable but often ignored influence of Northern sounds. Alongside the record label of the same name, Hoya’s flagship move has been the brave and tellingly successful ‘secret series’, where the guests, as the name would suggest, are revealed only on the night. Previous lineups have seen appearances from electronic luminaries such as Ras G, Oneman, Mary Anne Hobbs, Falty DL, Bok Bok and more. Word is that July’s guest is easily the biggest so far, with a specially commissioned and seriously cryptic promo video giving little away, but perhaps enough of a hint to get those eagle eyed few very excited.
