That familiar yellow liquid we so love to part our cash with is even more welcome in the summer season – so what better reason to break free from the usual weekend haunts than the annual Stockport Beer and Cider Festival. The three-day event at Stockport County FC’s ground is among the largest CAMRA organised events in the north – and so it should be, with literally hundreds to choose from; around 150 British cask and bottle conditioned beers (native and foreign too) will be available, along with ciders and perries for the more sweet toothed of us. Not satisfied with giving you a headache (through an overwhelming choice and also the next day’s hangover), live entertainment is on offer as well as hot and cold food to scoff. Strongly advised for those wishing to try every variation of the beverage.
