The world generally likes beer, but by throwing the novelty essence of Bavaria into the mix, people seem to go absolutely crazy over the stuff. Stocktoberfest taps into this very popular time of year, celebrating German beer hall culture by providing the thirsty people of Stockport with plenty of beers, bratwurst and oom-pah-pah. German tipples on offer throughout the weekend include Kolschs, Helles, Pilsner, Weissbier, Dunkelweisse, Altbeirs, Kellerbiers, Schwarzbier and Rauchbier, perfect for raising a glass to one of the countries that does it best. There’s also some German wines for those not after a pint. Music will be provided by The Bavarian Oompah Boys and The Oompah Band, and for the brave-hearted there’s also a fancy dress competition, should you feel like donning the lederhosen or dirndl to well and truly embrace the moment.
