Barlow Moor Road’s The Jackalope will re-open as Strange Brew this weekend, promising to build on the bar’s reputation for good beer and music. With Dave Williams, a veteran of Manchester’s bar and pub scene, now at the helm, Strange Brew promises ales from the likes of First Chop, Blackjack, Shindigger, Giepiel, Red Willow, Ilkley, Summerwine, Liverpool Craft, Magic Rock, Wild Beer and Weird Beard – plus a continuation of The Jackalope’s regular live music nights, including a Monday open mic session. Strange Brew launches just over a year after Lee Gorton took over the venue last February. It re-opens this weekend, with two parties planned for Saturday 7 and Thursday 12 June. Both are open to the public.

Opens Sat 7 Jun, Strange Brew, 370 Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton, M21 8AZ, Tel: 0161 862 9911, Sun – Thu 12pm – 11pm, Fri & Sat 12pm – 12am, www.strangebrewbar.co.uk, @StrangeBrewBar
