Sounds From The Other City festival is back. Returning to sunny Salford this May Bank Holiday weekend, the festival is a celebration of new music, performance and art in the community. It pays tribute to the hardworking independent promotors, emerging artists and to the off-kilter beauty of the often overlooked ‘other city’. Artists will be performing across several venues along Chapel Street on Saturday 2 May – including The Old Pint Pot, The Kings Arms, St. Phillip’s Church and many, many more. First announcements for 2020 have been made – and the early line-up is already looking stellar. This time around we welcome back acts like Liverpool’s experimental pop trio Stealing Sheep, ‘greatest band in the world’ Grotbags, and veteran SFTOC performers Cowtown. They’ll be joining the likes of former Super Fury Animal Gruff Rhys making his Sounds debut, cult heroes BEAK> and outsized pop outfit Self Esteem. There will also be some new faces on the bill with Irish songwriter Aoife Nessa Frances, Spanish artist Nuria Graham and newcomers Hilary & The Hate Crimes playing throughout the day.

When it comes to DJs, expect sets from triple-threat Kiss Me Again, legendary Chips With Everything, All Hands on Deck collective and the fabulous Fatty Acid Cabaret. You can catch all of these, and so many more acts on the day – plus there’s nearly 100 further acts still to be announced. Expect music everywhere. Tickets are on sale now and already flying out, so jump on one while you can. In the meantime, we’re giving you the chance to win a pair of tickets for Sounds From The Other City 2020. To enter, simply fill in the form below before the competition ends on Friday 27 March 2020. Good luck!
