International Women’s Day is Monday 8 March and the folks at The Refuge are helping you celebrate with Suffragette City, a virtual club night aimed at bringing women in Manchester together through music.

Taking place on Saturday 6 March, the event will be live streamed for twelve hours from noon until midnight, filmed at The Refuge and The Carlton Club, and powered by Club Solo and Manchester Union Lager. Livening up the virtual dance floor are a variety of DJs – including Jenna G and Mix-stress at The Refuge, and Julie Wills and LadyBeige at The Carlton Club – all coming together to bring the usual fun and excitement from the dance floors of both venues, and all for a good cause.

The event is set to raise money for the Saheli Asian Women’s Project, The Proud Trust’s Femolition Squad, Emmeline’s Pantry and Stockport Without Abuse. If you want to help raise money for one of these charities, or just have a good dance, the live stream could be just the thing to liven up your lockdown. Find out more by visiting the event’s Facebook page or head to the charity Crowdfunder to show your support.
