Following the welcome boom of mental health awareness and the subsequent emphasis on its physiological effects over the last several years, the latter two of which were spent charting a pandemic in deafening solitude, the need to restore and preserve our sense of personal tranquillity has never been more urgent. Step forward, the inaugural Manchester Wellbeing Festival, featuring the most prominent experts and celebrity voices in wellness across the entire spectrum of individual health, coming to Manchester Central Complex on 11th June.

Over the course of the event, fitness gurus and mental welfare ambassadors alike will deliver everything from barre workouts and kilted yoga sessions (the host, anyway) to poignant recovery stories and immune system masterclasses, all bearing an ethos of self-love.

Special guests include celebrity personal trainer Alice Liveing, with whom guests can kick off festival morning with a range of workouts instead of an equally strenuous hangover; Love Island doctor-turned-Government Mental Health Ambassador Alex George, who invites guests to devise a holistic plan for a ‘happy, healthy body and mind’; Jungle Queen Vicky Pattinson and DJ Fat Tony with inspirational discussions of their respective journeys back from their own darkness, and many more.

Undeniably the spiritual Yin to Parklife’s Yang, which takes place on the same weekend, the Manchester Wellbeing Festival is set to be just as entertaining as dodging ominously full projectile cups while barrelling your way to the front of Camelphat, and far more beneficial to your health.
