March is a month for women – does that mean it’s not a month for men? Don’t be silly. International Women’s day may have come and gone (March 8 to be exact) and it’s been marked in a variety of ways. But let’s not forget – not that anyone has – women only gained the right to vote fully in 1928, in part thanks to the work of the Manchester born and educated Estelle Sylvia Pankhurst. In celebration of her and many others in the movement a five mile guided bicycle tour of the places that Sylvia lived and worked in. As well as stories and songs there will be a screening of the film Sylvia Pankhurst: Everything is Possible at the People’s History Museum. You will need to bring your own bike and meet at the Gallery of Costume at noon before a 2.5 hour tour will deliver you at the People’s History Museum for the above film screening.

Sun 22 Mar, Gallery of Costume Platt Hall Manchester, Wilmslow Road,M14 6LA, noon-2.30pm (bike ride, £6), film screening 2.30pm onwards (FREE), £6, www.facebook.com
