Tale of the Frozen Bits comes to Castlefield Gallery this February, the first major solo exhibition of work by El Morgan.
Work spanning sculpture, sound, video, text and animation explore the rich and surprising history of fertility drugs and how solutions of the past paved the way for modern-day medicines.
Morgan takes viewers on a journey through past answers to fertility, from gallons of nun’s urine, hamster cells, horse glands and frogs. The exhibition seeks to open up our relationship with the bodies of women and the often ethically controversial branch of medicine at a time when reproductive rights are being curtailed across the globe.
The exhibition runs from Sun 12 Feb – Sun 12 Mar and entry to the gallery is free. A special advance preview will be held on Thu 9 Feb, there’s no need to book, just head down. For more information, visit the Castlefield Gallery website.
