The ever popular Literature Live series returns, bringing together authors and poets to discuss and read their works – and this one looks to be a big one. Deemed by many as of the most influential poets of the 1980s and 1990s, Michael Hofmann is also among the most respected translators of works from German into English. He’s joined at this event by British author Rachel Seiffert (pictured). Her first novel, The Dark Room (2001), was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and has recently been adapted into the critically acclaimed feature Lore, while second novel Afterwards was nominated for the Orange Prize. Raised by Australian and German parents, Seiffert was brought up in a bilingual household – so expect an Anglo-German twist to their look at the writing game.
