The Whitworth’s ‘Alternative Camera Club’ offers budding snappers and lens aficionados the chance to explore the gallery’s collection through discussions and debates led by guest speakers. Home to one of Europe’s finest collection of textiles, you’ll be able to these with your camera and the current showcase of West African art including works by Nii Obodai. This weekend, Manchester-based photographer Mark Page leads a discussion. His work explores themes of locality (akin to Obodai’s) and debate will focus on the concept of ‘home’.
