Ahead of its two-year closure as it undergoes a major restoration, Tate Liverpool hosts a free celebratory weekend of activities in which guests can enjoy the national collection of art in its current form for the last time.

On Sat 14 and Sun 15 Oct, visitors can take part in a variety of different craft activities and take home their own creations, including placards inspired by Bob and Roberta Smith, as well as joining Vanessa Scott and Andy Wolfden in contributing personal memories and visions of the future for Tate Liverpool.

In an ‘intimate collaborative performance’ with DJ Lynnée Denise, artist Torkwase Dyson will be on hand to activate her sculptural installation Liquid A Place 2021, a captivating blend of poetry, film and music which explores the sounds of the African Diaspora against the backdrop of social justice. Celebrated writer Lauren Elkin joins Tuner Prize-winner Lubaina Himid for a one-off talk, and a complimentary Tate Liverpool party bag featuring exclusively commissioned prints is available for all visitors.
