TEDx rolls in to Manchester Academy for its third and biggest Manchester event yet. Created in partnership with TEDxUniversityOfManchester, a newly formed TEDx group, the programme is made up of self-organised events that bring people together, with the aim to ‘network, be inspired and learn something new’. Speakers on this year’s programme include: the biggest entrepreneurial ‘rising star’ under the age of 30, Carrie Green (pictured), and winner of Milkround’s 2013 Graduate of the Year, Caleb Meakins. BBC World News correspondent Jon Sopel and children’s author Anthony Lishak will be giving talks, while independent British filmmaker maker and journalist, Harry Fear, will lecture on the Israel-Palestine conflict, Gaza and media bias. Elsewhere, BBC Young Musician of the Year, Jess Gillam, all-female alternative cabaret quartet, Eggs Collective, and Scottish composer Tom Harrold will also be making appearances. To register for tickets, head to the TedxManchester website.
