A new platform is being built for Manchester’s photographers by Preston Is My Paris’ Adam Murray and Brighton Photo Biennal’s Oliver Whitehead. TENT intends to establish a network of contemporary photographers within Greater Manchester – starting at the Whitworth Art Gallery with a freeform, audience-participation session. Once networks, partners and collaborators are connected, they will look into imparting knowledge and contacts on each other through a pedagogical peer system rather than any autocracy. With regular meetings and accessible resources they then hope to create tangible work. It’s a chance to meet like-minded individuals and learn from each other in the hope of developing future projects from these processes – and TENT hopes to get as many like-minded individuals as possible under its marquee.
