The beauty of Edinburgh preview season is that everybody wins, the comedians who desperately need to road test their new material as often as possible and the audience who get to check out some of the brightest comedians around for super low prices. Inviting a whole heap of winners to the city are the good folk at Group Therapy who have two months of previews at The Deaf Institute every Thursday featuring two comedy acts per night all for just a fiver. Kicking off with local favourites Gein’s Family Giftshop and London-based oddball Ben Target they run for nine consecutive weeks ending with sometime GT compere Garrett Millerick and rising US comic Sean Patton taking in the likes of comedy stalwarts such as Robin Ince, local heroes like Phil Ellis and surreal clowns like John Luke Roberts. All comedy bases are covered and the price is laughably small for a group of comedians who could well be duking it out for the big prizes come August at the Fringe.
