After the roaring success of Stockport Sausage Festival earlier in the year, it’s no surprise organisers High Peak Beer Co are back – but only this time, packing a lot less meat. For one night only, Stockport’s Victorian Market Hall is turned into a speakeasy, serving the best in American craft ale and cocktails, with music from Hot Harlem to set the scene. For the enthusiast, expect to sample drops from Weyerbacher, Old Dominion, Flying Dog and Rogue, while more common beers from Brooklyn Brewery and Samuel Adams are also expected to be available, along with a wide selection of bourbons and a few cocktails for those after a long drink. Sausages, of course, had to make some kind of appearance – though this time it’s the hot dog stealing the show. Mind you, with 1920s fancy dress advised, we’d suggest being careful about dripping mustard on those gangster and flapper suits before having to take them back to the rental shop.
