The Book of Mormon is set to make a more-than-welcome return to Manchester in December.
The nine-time Tony Award and four-time Olivier Award-winning musical proved a resounding hit during its last visit to the city, delivering a string of sell-out shows that were met with overwhelming acclaim across the board.
Brainchild of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the masterminds behind South Park, the show follows the misadventures of a pair of missionaries, who have been sent on a mission tp preach the word of Christ to a remote Ugandan village.
Unsurprisingly, things don’t exactly go smoothly, as the locals are focused on more pressing issues such as HIV, famine, female genital mutilation and oppression b the local warlord.
Since its launch, The Book of Mormon has gone on to rack up record after record, becoming the most sold-out show on both Broadway and the West End.
The upcoming Mancehster run will see the team take over the Palace Theatre from Wed 9 Dec, right through until Sat 1 Jan.
