The lovable rascals at Common are up to something again. Too Much Vino, the colourful artwork from artist Billy, has had a good stint on the walls of the Edge Street bar, but its time is up. Out with the old, in with the new. Stepping in to adorn the empty interior is The Common World, a playful exhibition from a team of Manchester-based artists and designers. The Common World artists have created a micro-society for modern global issues to be played out in an interactive, risographed exhibition, exploring crises in the realms of environment, energy, education, food, social, economic, political and alternatives. The work already boasts an impressive online presence ahead of its launch, so check out the website and Twitter to find out more, as well as their takeover of Common’s homepage. The era of the Common World has apparently begun and you can find it on the walls of Common from next week, so pop down to the launch night and help them mark the occasion with DJs, drinks and debates.
