The Engine House Studio will launch a pop-up shop in UNTIOM later this month, raising funds for community growers Manchester Urban Diggers (MUD).
MUD is a not-for-profit social enterprise managing food-growing projects and community gardens across the city, running volunteer sessions, a green prescribing programme and hosting various food and drink events to promote locally-grown food and green spaces.
However, the organisation’s Platt Fields Market Garden was broken into earlier this year, with thousands of pounds worth of equipment stolen.
In an effort to raise funds for MUD, the shared interdisciplinary studio space, The Engine House, has created a series of limited edition works on the theme of growing and nature. These will be sold via a pop-up shop in Stevenson Square’s UNITOM from Fri 23 Jun – Sun 25 Jun, with all proceeds going to MUD.
The fundraiser will launch 5pm-7pm on the Friday in-store, with beers generously provided by independent breweries DEYA, Track, Cloudwater and Gan Yam. This launch will be a first chance to shop the new limited prints, objects and more created by residents of the Engine House and celebrate MUD’s work.
