A brand new exhibition is set to begin a year-long residency at the Urbis Building. Titled simply ‘The Game’, it is a collection of pieces by Stuart Roy Clarke, an acclaimed photographer who has documented the changing face of football for almost 30 years. His interest in this subject began after the Hillsborough Disaster, which led him to focus on the ordinary supporters, rather than the players on the pitch. His first exhibition, ‘The Homes of Football’, toured the country and was a hit with fans of the beautiful game and critics alike. This new show features some of Clarke’s most significant and evocative work from his long career. A dynamic exhibit, it will grow and change over the course of the next 12 months, with a hand-picked selection of Clarke’s favourite images at its core.

From Fri 23 Mar 2018, National Football Museum, Urbis Building, Cathedral Gardens, Todd Street, Manchester, M4 3BG, 10am – 5pm, FREE, www.nationalfootballmuseum.com
