A new exhibition exploring the beauty of everyday life has opened at the Great Northern Warehouse.

The collection, which is titled Found Moments, comes from renowned artist Antonia Patricia Miller, and spans acrylic paintings and prints.

Antonia first gained recognition in the creative world as a producer of beloved children’s art shows for the BBC and ITV. After a successful career in television, she returned to her first artistic passion: fine art.

Since then, she has immersed herself in artistic communities across London and Manchester, participated in workshops in Italy and Cornwall, and developed a distinctive style characterized by bold, vibrant colours, a playful simplicity, and a keen ability to capture fleeting moments of beauty, particularly in landscapes, floral scenes, and avian life.

Found Moments is described as ‘a tribute to the beauty in the ordinary’. The series of still-life paintings intends to highlight overlooked corners of cafés and restaurants. Through vivid colours and thoughtful compositions, the works bring everyday settings to life, inviting viewers to find joy in the simplicity of daily life.

In addition to the exhibition, Antonia will host a series of workshops and events throughout September, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with her creative process.

Mindful Mondays will be held every Monday from 6pm to 8.30pm. These will feature calming sessions that blend mindfulness practices with art, fostering a relaxed environment for creative expression. Participants will have the chance to draw or paint a still-life arrangement, while soothing music and mindful techniques create a peaceful space for artistic exploration.

Meanwhile, Sunday Portrait Sessions, held every Sunday from 12pm to 4pm, welcome artists and creatives of all skill levels. These sessions provide a space for Manchester’s artistic community to gather, draw portraits of each other, and celebrate their creativity.

Each session includes guidance, tuition, and materials, with a fee of £15 per session and a concession rate of £10. Workshops can be booked by messaging the artist directly here.
