Hallé St Peter’s is hosting a free afternoon of family-friendly activities this Thursday.

Heritage Afternoon with the Hallé will run from 1pm – 3pm, featuring an array of interactive fun and workshops for little ones.

Designer and illustrator, Lydia Meiying, will be helping guests make their own instruments – from rain sticks and shakers to balloon drums and elastic band guitars.

For anyone wanting to be out and about, the Hallé’s brand-new heritage discovery trail invites explorers to uncover hidden stories he streets of Ancoats, discovering clues and completing challenges as they go.

You’ll have the chance to find out more about local community groups such as Step Up! Manchester and the Getting to Know Ancoats project, created by artistic partnership Malandra Jacks.

Activities have been designed with children of primary school age in mind but can be adapted for older or younger children.

Complimentary soft and hot drinks will be available as well as some fruit and cakes for those needing a little afternoon pick-me-up. This event is free — no need to book, just pop by or stay for the full two hours.
