Ever the innovators, Manchester’s drinks masters The Liquorists launch their newest venture Kowloon Correspondents Club this week: a luxury cocktail experience with a difference. Open from Thursday to Saturday each week until Christmas, KCC will take Barton Arcade’s former Kitchen Restaurant venue back in time to 1930s Kowloon, Hong Kong, following the trail of a fictional Foreign Correspondent and recreating the exotic flavours encountered as he makes his way from Manchester to Kowloon Bay. Making stops at the likes of New York, San Francisco, Hawaii, Tahiti, Rangoon, Mombassa and Cape Town in between, sip on a menu of drinks accentuating each location, created especially by The Liquorists and Belvedere Vodka. What’s more, the club will also be reviving the cocktail hour from 5pm to 7pm each evening, with a selection of signature serves and more inventive cocktails, including Belvedere Black Raspberry, Bloody Mary and a UK-exclusive Lemon Tea, all at half price. You can even try your hand at making your own with free masterclasses and tasting sessions each evening (for times, see here). Open for only two months, stop by Kowloon Correspondents Club and trick your mind into a flavour trip, without having to leave the city.
