The Lowry is on the lookout for volunteer, non-professional participants to take part in a brand-new production by renowned international theatre-makers Bert and Nasi.

Audiences will be treated to two spectacular shows from the duo later this month as they bring The End and The Beginning to the Salford stage.

Ahead of what will be the world premiere of The Beginning, The Lowry has called for volunteers aged 60 and of any gender to take part in the show.

Participants will need to be comfortable walking and moving but do not need to be experienced dancers or movers, as the routine will be very simple.

Initially, volunteers will be seated with the audience before being called to the stage by Bert and Nasi. After performing a simple routine, participants will stay on stage seated on chairs and later on towards the end of the show will read text projected on the back screen into microphones.

The performance takes place on Thu 27 Apr at The Lowry, and volunteers will need to be available for all of the following:

  • Tue 25 April 2pm-5pm – Workshop 1 (3 hours) at The Lowry
  • Wed 26 April 2pm-5pm – Workshop 2 (3 hours) at The Lowry
  • Thu 27 April 2pm-5pm – Workshop 3 (3 hours) then Performance (8pm) at The Lowry

If you are interested and can make all of the rehearsals and performance please contact Lin Shi at lin.shi@thelowry.com
