The Lowry kicks on with its packed spring schedule over the next couple of weeks, welcoming an eclectic mix of genre-spanning productions.

To help point you in the right direction, we’ve picked out a couple of immediate highlights coming to the theatre this month.

First up, is TalkShow: Telethon, a darkly humorous exploration of public morality which arrives for two shows on Fri 18 Mar and Sat 19 Mar. A unique take on the familiar Comic Relief-style telethon, the show follows the story of host Jennifer, who is determined to bring the nation together behind a noble cause.

As we wade through a series of special guests, challenges and prizes, it soon becomes apparent that just uniting the studio would be challenging enough in itself, as the telethon unravels piece-by-piece, before veering wildly off the rails.

A week later, comes the widely-acclaimed SKANK, which will be making the last stop of its final tour right here at The Lowry on Thu 24 Mar and Fri 25 Mar.

Kate, who dreams of being a successful writer, attempts to navigate her mundane, unchallenging office job, impress her love interest ‘Sexy Gary’ and recycle a tin of beans, all while simultaneously attempting to keep her inner anxieties at bay.

Clementine Bogg-Hargroves’ incredible solo performance enjoyed a sell-out 2021 tour, so the final chance to catch the revered production is one not to be missed.
