This week sees the return of the Manchester Picnic in Piccadilly Gardens. 17 of the best street food vendors from the North West will be peddling their fayre from Friday to Sunday. Look out for authentic Indian street food from Chaat Cart, Mediterranean delights from Papa G’s, and flame-grilled brisket from Fire & Salt BBQ. For dessert, Ginger’s Comfort Emporium will serve up its award-winning ice-cream, and there will be Spanish doughnuts courtesy of Choccy Churros. Entertainment will also be laid on, with DJs on the Friday, and acoustic sessions on Saturday. Sunday is children’s day, and will feature a teddy bear’s picnic, a ‘Baby Ballet’, and the Roald Dahl Museum and Storytelling Centre. This hugely popular event is now in its fifth year, and attracted 25,000 people in 2013.
