Following the success of last year’s Manchester Picnic, which attracted over 15,000 visitors for a three-day bonanza of world foods stalls and entertainment, this family-friendly foodie festival returns to Piccadilly Gardens this weekend. The festival offers a plethora of ‘street foods’ from around the globe to get the gastric juices flowing: expect mouth-watering treats such as pateis (a form of Brazilian fried pastry), momo fried dumplings and, of course, the Manchester Egg, from a host of stalls including Tibetan Kitchen and Tio’s Snack Shack. The picnic will also include live music on Saturday from (the suitably music-related) Nando’s Nanockers, family entertainment from System One’s Mr Red, vintage DJs on Friday, and activities for children on Sunday. Make sure to bring along the Gingham as the city centre celebrates another fantastic weekend of gastronomic revelry!
