Perhaps the best muppet film, arguably the best Christmas film and definitely Sir Michael Caine’s greatest ever performance, The Muppet Christmas Carol gets a special screening at Gorilla this month. Charles Dickens’ classic tale of a life lived in solitude – and the power of Christmas to bring us together – is made even better with the incorporation of Jim Henson’s most famous creations. To add to the festive fun, the Northern Quarter Boys Choir will be singing before in aid of the Christies Hospital here in Manchester. Raising money for charity, a glass of mulled wine and watching the muppets sing with a knight of the realm? It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.
