The National Football Museum have revealed a new exhibition jointly curated by artist Michael Browne and Manchester United legend Eric Cantona.

From Moss Side to Marseille: The Art of Michael Browne and Eric Cantona is a collection of fine art pieces by Michael Browne that chronicle the relationship between sport and modern society.

The work has been commissioned by Cantona and executed by Browne in his distinctive figurative style. The collection is influenced by sporting heroes who used their platforms to drive forward social change, despite the personal cost it came at.

Themes throughout include human rights, equality, injustice, the impact of power and elevations to a godlike status.

Guests will be able to marvel at the scale of Browne’s work, alongside never before seen items from his personal archive.

From Moss Side to Marseille: The Art of Michael Browne and Eric Cantona opens on Sat 14 Jan and will run until Thu 1 Jun. Head to the National Football Museum website for more information.
