The Portico promises to ‘put the club back in book club’ with a night of readings, dancing and music this May.
In the library’s latest edition of its Late-Night Book Club, author, academic, editor, podcaster, creative producer, and writer Yvonne Battle-Felton will join as host. Yvonne’s debut work, Remembered, was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction and shortlisted for the Jhalak Prize.
Also joining for readings on the evening will be author and Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing, Phillipa Harry Holloway (The Half-life of Snails), screenwriter, playwright and poet, afshan d’souza-lodhi, and Marcia Hutchinson, who was named one of The Observer’s Best New Novelists for 2025.
Alongside the readings, there will be insightful book talks, opportunities for mingling and discussion, free light refreshments and dancing to a soundtrack supplied by Josh AF.
The Portico’s Late-Night Book Club with Yvonne Battle-Felton will be happening on Fri 9 May from 8pm. Book your tickets using the button below.
