We all know the Principal Hotel on Manchester’s Oxford Street for its classic red brick design and looming clock tower that’s a regular sight on the city’s skyline. However it’s also home to Refuge Bar, which launches its weekly summer terrace parties and new bespoke gin bar specifically created by gin-wizards Martin Miller from late Jun, until Aug 17. Handpicked DJs and devoted vinyl connoisseurs will grace the Refuge’s terrace hidden in Waterhouse Way every Friday and Saturday for a selection of day-to-night soirées to kick off your summer on the right note. The ‘vinyl only’ format guarantees a classic, old school feel to the events, making them a must-go for music lovers – plus the 5pm-8pm Friday/4pm-8pm Saturday time slots mean those hazy summer afternoons never have to end. Ad Hoc Records, Me Gusta and Danny Ward are just a few of the names confirmed for these sessions so far, with the full lineup available on The Refuge’s social media and website. On top of these soul filled summer sessions, Martin Miller’s Gin have created a bespoke gin bar exclusively for The Refuge, allowing guests to get their teeth into the best quality, weird and wonderful gin concoctions making for a truly unique experience. Feel free to drop in and out, get the party started with friends or just simply treat yourself to a well deserved post work drink – you don’t even need a ticket. Perfect!
