Returning for a ‘sensational day celebrating all things saxophone’, the RNCM’s largest annual sax gathering takes over the college’s venues with a dazzling series of performances on Sun 5 Nov.

This year’s event features an array of renowned guest artists making their RNCM debut, including Valentine Michaud, a musician of ‘extraordinary depth and versatility’ and the first ever saxophone soloist to perform with the Wiener Philharmoniker, who performs alongside celebrated pianist Ben Powell. The day concludes with a spectacular double bill, starting with Billboard-charting social media sensation Derek Brown, renowned for his one of a kind ‘BEATBoX SAX’. Check out his performance of Stand By Me below.

Finally, the Matt Carmichael Quartet brings its ‘powerfully emotive blend’ of jazz and folk to the RNCM following performances at Celtic Connections, Ronnie Scott’s, Love Supreme and more.

Enjoy these incredible performances as a saxophone enthusiast, or grab your instrument and join in the day’s activities if you’re a sax player yourself. From beginners to professionals, there’s something for all ages and abilities.

Throughout the day, guests can also enjoy the sprawling trade exhibition and even hit the stage as part of the beloved Mass Saxophone Orchestra.
