The brothers behind much-loved Manchester cocktail bar Schofield’s are set to open a new venue in the city centre.

Described as an ‘all day drinkery’ Atomeca will open in Spinningfields this autumn, marking the team’s second iteration of the wine-led concept — the first of which launched at Deansgate Square in 2021.

The new spot will again focus primarily on wine, with the bar group’s James Brandwood curating the wine selection. The team have also collaborated with Manchester brewery Track to create an Atomeca pale ale.

Commenting on the new site, Joe Schofield said: “Our Deansgate Square location evolved organically in line with what our guests and residents needed us to be as an extension of their homes at the development.

“With our second site we will focus on wine and food much more, giving our guests a place where they can drop in for a glass of wine or a cocktail on the way home, or be able to join us for a meal as they take a journey through Europe, sampling some of the best dishes and drinks the region has to offer.”

Earlier this year, Schofield’s was named best in the UK on the prestigious Franklin & Sons Top 50 Bars list, the latest in a long list of accolades since their arrival in Manchester.

Atomeca Spinningfields is expected to open this autumn.
