The Science and Industry Museum has unveiled plans for an intergalactic-themed February half term.
From an out-of-this-world exhibition premiere to hands-on fun celebrating the wonders of the night sky, the Science and Industry Museum is offering something for all space lovers throughout the school holidays.
February half term coincides with the launch of the blockbuster new family exhibition, Horrible Science: Cosmic Chaos, which opens on Fri 13 Feb. The thrilling new exhibition will invite visitors to explore our wondrous Solar System, where mystery, intrigue and rocket-loads of silly and surprising science await.

Venture through a series of cosmic zones, walk in the shoes of astronauts, explore the life-giving energy of the Sun, marvel at mysterious moons and discover far-off weird worlds. Left teetering on the edge of our Solar System, explorers will then find themselves staring into the dark depths of space, on the lookout for any extra-terrestrial life that could be staring back.
The museum will also be hosting an array of free activities throughout half term. From Sat 14 Feb – Sun 22 Feb, Manchester dance troupe Company Chameleon will be leading drop-in movement sessions and the Star Lab will be open, offering the chance to create a constellation in a cup and build a star map to explore the night sky.
On Tue 17 Feb, visitors can meet space scientists from the University of Manchester for a special Get Curious session. These regular sessions bring science to life by celebrating the innovations changing our world today. Explore real pieces of space by examining meteorites and step into the (moon) boots of astronauts during a Meteorite Hunt.

Alongside the museum’s special events and exhibitions, visitors can enjoy its free galleries, including the recently re-opened Power Hall: The Andrew Law Gallery, interactive Experiment, the Textiles Gallery with original working mill machines and Revolution Manchester, where world-changing ideas are ready to explore.
